These lessons will guide you through the most essentials portions of the Intertestamental Period, the birth and ministry of Christ, and the “birth” of the Church at Pentecost. Remaining lessons include the Apostle’s letters to the young churches and other writers of the New Testament.

Lesson 1: The lnter-Testamental Period / Intro to New Testament-an overview of the historical period between the OT and NT, outlining the major empires who controlled Palestine.
Lesson 2: John the Baptist-the role of John in the history of redemption, and his message and means of his ministry.
Lesson 3: The Birth of Jesus I The Early Years of Jesus· Life-the role of miracles in the birth and life of Christ, and His identity and mission.
Lesson 4: Jesus's Baptism / Temptation / Public Ministry-His role as the second Adam; wilderness temptations; revolutionary teachings of Beatitudes.
Lesson 5: The Teaching of Jesus: Parables/ Interpreting Parables-the literary device of the parable, and important principles of interpretation.
Lesson 6: The Miracles of Jesus/ The Caesarea-Philippi Confession-the role of miracles; the Messianic Secret; identify & define given names of Christ.
Lesson 7: The Transfiguration / The Triumphal Entry-place of glory / humiliation / exaltation; significance of triumphal entry, and meaning of Hosanna.
Lesson 8: The Cross-crucifixion and forsakenness; role of God the Father.
Lesson 9: The Resurrection of Christ / The Ascension-disciples reaction to resurrection and ascension of Christ; purpose of the Ascension.
Lesson 10: Pentecost I The Expansion of the Church-OT background to Pentecost; identity of four primary groups of early church, and pattern of growth.
Lesson 11: The Conversion of Paul / Romans-requirements of being an apostle; significance of Paul's conversion; Paul's presentation of the gospel.
Lesson 12: I and II Corinthians / The Prison Epistles-significance of Corinth; problems in this church; Philippians, Colossians, and Ephesian letters.
Lesson 13: I and II Timothy / Hebrews-place of pastoral epistles; and Christ's order of the priesthood
Lesson 14: The General Epistles / The Book of Revelation-James as wisdom teachings; Peter in role of suffering; heresies addressed/refuted in John.
Part Three:
Christian Doctrine
THIRTEEN LESSONS. Online and book content in a meeting style course.
These lessons will guide you through the most essential portions of Christian Doctrine (properly handling the Word of God-II Timothy 2:15). These historic teachings, which summarize biblical truths, deserve to be fully explained and supported.
Key teachings are the video lectures of RC Sproul from Ligonier Ministries (Foundations Series), coupled with Summary of Christian Doctrine (Louis Berkhof) and Westminster Shorter Catechism with Scripture Proofs. Rather than just “hearing” RC’s teaching, it’s important and very helpful to read slowly this critical content in a well-organized, systematic way.

Lesson One: Course Overview;What is Theology? Defined as a subject that encompasses all of what God has revealed generally and specifically; Scope and Purpose of Theology-comprehensive review covering what is instructed by God to grow in obedience to Him.
Lesson Two: General and Special Revelation Summary - dealing with differences; Inspiration and Authority of Scripture-as the Bible is the Word of God, we look at relevance for today, and Scripture and Authority-covering nature, origins, & authority.
Lesson Three: Knowledge of God Summary, Incommunicable Attributes - those found in God alone, & Communicable Attributes-those found also in humans.
Lesson Four: The Will of God - distinctions between revealed and hidden will of God, and Providence-the affairs of men and nations are in His hand in preserving and working.
Lesson Five: One in Essence - covering that God is one in essence, and Three in One Person-demonstrates that the Trinity is mysterious, but not contradictory.
Lesson Six: Creation of Man - understanding man’s origins and being; Original Sin-extent and scope of sin’s nature, and its’ consequences; Transmission of Sin-connects Adam’s sin to humanity and Christ as the second Adam’s role in redemption for all believers.
Lesson Seven: Christ of the Bible - person and work of Christ in His greatness; Names of Christ-prominent names used, and summary of offices and states; The Covenants-overview of Christ as Mediator of the covenant found in Hebrews 8:3-6.
Lesson Eight: The Substitutionary Atonement - different aspects of the satisfaction of God’s justice; Why did Christ die? -significance of Christ’s death; and Extent of the Atonement-the controversial questions of definite/limited atonement reviewed.
Lesson Nine: Holy Spirit in OT - person and work confirmed in OT empowerments; Holy Spirit in NT-particular work of redemption; The Paraclete-His vital role in believers.
Lesson Ten: Common Grace and Election -difference of universal and salvational grace; Effectual Calling-work of God changing hearts; Justification by Faith Alone-definitions and key teachings that are biblical and the basis of the Protestant Reformation.
Lesson Eleven: Saving Faith - three elements of faith; Adoption and Union with Christ- special privileges of being God’s child; Sanctification-transforming work in our lives
Lesson Twelve: One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church - unity and diversity within one church and each defined; Sacraments-Baptism and Lord’s Supper importance.
Lesson Thirteen: Death, Intermediate State, Resurrection - perplexing problems of life and what happens at death? Final Judgement &Believers Rest - what is to be expected.
