LEADER Training Course with Westminster OR Baptist Confession of Faith
SIX LESSONS
This Leader Training course is designed as a “pre-built” Workshop style training to reduce the time and teaching prep load for the Pastor or Church Planter. This has been developed and used in a format where each lesson is assigned to be done online, then gather for a two hour In-Person Workshop every two or three weeks. Lessons provide reading and teachings of either Westminster or 1689 Baptist Confessions of Faith, and a MOST helpful Leader’s Manual written by Tim and Kathy Keller when they started Redeemer Church-NYC decades ago. Led by Pastor Jon Sole, in a Workshop format, offers video training sessions, PDFs of teaching content, and defined chapters of Mark Dever’s Discipling: How to Help Others book.TARGET - Aspiratonal and Existng Church Leaders.

Unit One: INTRODUCTION--Identity and Mandate-Matthew 28:18-20 calls churches to “make disciples”, but getting started happens by defining identities, and critical components.
Unit Two: Foundational Models-- Acts 16:1-5 helps us to define these models, and the components of Paul’s model.
Unit Three: Foundational Practices--Titus 2:1-10 defines practices, and explains/expands on effective discipling.
Unit Four: ISSUES: Hinderances--identifies five significant hinderances, and compares these to local church contexts.
Unit Five: IMPLEMENTATION: Primary Tools--three primary tools identified, explaining the importance of their use.
Unit Six: Various Approaches—three major approaches explored, and the importance of curriculum in all approaches.
Unit Seven: Getting S-T-A-R-T-E-D—Scripture driven, Trust building, Accountability producing, Reproduction focused, Transformational outcomes, Evangelistic, and Deliberate.
Unit Eight: Adopting a Model – application and adoption of models, like D-groups, and the value of holistic discipleship.
Spiritual Disciplines and Christian Living
TEN LESSONS
Led by Pastor Jon Sole, in a Workshop format, it offers video training sessions, PDF of teaching content, and defined chapters of Donald Whitney’s Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life and from David Mathis’ Habits of Grace. TARGET – Aspirational and Existing Church Leaders. Key disciplines covered are Prayer, Bible Intake, Fasting, Worship, Service and Stewardship. Most important will be the emphasis of striking the balance between human effort and Divine grace, so that we can reflect Christlikeness in our daily lives.
